WEEK 8: Gothic Architecture Prior Knowledge: My knowledge yet again was limited on the subject of Gothic Architecture. My knowledge of the gothic genre comes from the modern day dressing where black eye liner and black clothing. The architectural side I have probably seen but not accepted as being from that genre. I believe there will be a lot to learn and some bits that I will be able to bring forward. My notes and takeaways from the lecture Defining Gothic: Gothic is a term used by the Renaissance to describe certain types of art and architecture of the Middle Ages Gothic Architecture was considered inferior by the Renaissances, similar to how the Roman's held themselves superior to the Barbarians.
